Case Study: Eagle Test Systems
Challenge
Founder led since 1976, this private semiconductor test equipment manufacturer received $95M in funding in September of 2003 from a leading private equity firm. Just two months later, TillmanCarlson was retained to recruit a proven public company CFO to assist the equity firm and family led management team in positioning the company for a potential IPO.
Solution
Recognizing the complexity of the company's underlying technology and cyclical markets, TillmanCarlson recommended a focused approach to target CFOs with previous experience in an engineering oriented technology company and direct involvement in scaling a business. Further, a strong control background was required due to the challenges of complying with SOX, and the style to fit into the company's culture was extremely important.
Result
TillmanCarlson successfully recruited an experienced CFO who started his career in public accounting, and then helped scale a technology company from $10M to $100M while leading it though a highly successful IPO. We also recruited a Board Member with high profile technology and IPO experience, leading to the company's successful IPO and secondary offering in 2006.
